Quintra
Privacy Policy
The short version. Quintra has no accounts, never asks for Apple's permission to track you, and never collects your advertising identifier. Your games live on your phone. Multiplayer, leaderboards, and achievements run through Apple's Game Center under Apple's rules. Every mode is free; the game shows a full-screen ad after you finish a puzzle, game, or match, and in online matches after you send a move, never while it is your turn, and a one-time purchase removes ads for good. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which receives the device details described below. The app also sends a small set of anonymous usage signals so we can see which parts of the game get played, and you can turn that off in Settings. Starting with version 1.0.2, and only for App Store accounts in the United States and Canada, Meta also receives install and app-open information to measure our Instagram advertising, as described below.
Who we are
Quintra is made by The Flaggship Group LLC ("we"). You can reach us at quinn@theflaggshipgroup.com.
What stays on your phone
Your saved games, daily challenge and puzzle records, progression, unlocked cosmetics, and settings are stored on your device. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, your progression records (counters, streaks, and unlocks) also sync through iCloud Key-Value Storage so they follow you to another device. That data goes to Apple's iCloud on your Apple Account; we never receive it and cannot read it.
Game Center
Online matches, invitations, leaderboards, and achievements use Apple's Game Center. When you play online, Game Center shares your Game Center display name and avatar with your opponent, and your scores with the leaderboards you post to. Each move you send to an opponent carries the game state, the cosmetics you have equipped, and your in-game level, so their app can show the same board and the same look. We do not run a server for any of this; Apple does, under the Apple Privacy Policy. You control your Game Center profile in iOS Settings.
Anonymous usage signals
To learn which modes get played and where new players get stuck, the app sends a fixed, short list of usage events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. Examples: "tutorial completed", "daily challenge completed with a score in this range", "a match against the Computer ended", "VoiceOver is on". Signals carry categories and rounded ranges, never your board, your cards, your moves, your scores as exact numbers, or your Game Center identity. The identifier attached to them is a salted hash generated on your device that we cannot link to you.
You can turn these signals off at any time in the app's Settings, under Anonymous usage signals. Turning them off stops TelemetryDeck signals immediately; the separate advertising measurement described below is unaffected.
Advertising
Quintra shows one full-screen ad after a completed activity: a solved daily puzzle, a finished Daily Challenge, a finished practice game, a finished match against the Computer, or a finished online match. In an online match it may also show one after you send a move, once the match is waiting on your opponent. Ads never appear while it is your turn or between rounds, outside the daily puzzles and the Daily Challenge there is at most one every ten minutes, your first session in the app shows none, and the game saves your result before any ad is shown.
The ads are served by Google AdMob, part of Google LLC. To request and show an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the app sends Google your device's IP address, device model and iOS version, app version, language, time zone, the identifier for this app on your device (Apple's vendor identifier), a coarse location derived from the IP address, and how you interact with the ad (whether it was shown, tapped, or closed). Google uses this to choose and deliver ads, to measure them, to detect fraud, and to attribute app installs through Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports a conversion to the advertiser without identifying you. How Google handles this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Quintra does not ask Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, so Google cannot read your advertising identifier (IDFA) or link your activity in Quintra to other apps and websites. We never send Google your name, your Game Center identity, your scores, or anything about your games.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's consent form, and you can decline. In US states with an opt-out right, the form offers it. Wherever the form applies, an Ad privacy choices button in the app's Settings lets you change your answer at any time.
Measuring our Instagram ads
Starting with version 1.0.2, Quintra uses Meta's Facebook SDK to report installs and app-opening sessions so we can understand whether our Instagram ads bring people to the game. These reports include app and SDK versions, event times and session information, technical device information such as model, operating system, language and time zone, and SDK-generated installation identifiers or Apple's vendor identifier. Meta also receives your IP address when the app connects to its services. These reports are separate from the anonymous TelemetryDeck usage signals described above.
This measurement runs only when your App Store account is in the United States or Canada, the countries where our ads run. Everywhere else, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the app never starts Meta's SDK and sends Meta nothing.
We disable advertising identifier (IDFA) collection and automatic purchase/event logging, and configure Meta to limit event data use to analytics and conversion measurement. Quintra does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Meta's SDK reads the system tracking authorization status and supports Apple's SKAdNetwork attribution. We do not send Meta your Game Center identity, puzzle boards, cards, moves, scores, or purchase receipts, and we do not offer Facebook Login. See the Meta Privacy Policy for how Meta handles information it receives.
The Share anonymous usage switch controls TelemetryDeck only. Google's Ad privacy choices control Google ad consent only. Removing ads stops Google ad requests; it does not stop this separate measurement of our own advertising.
Removing ads
Remove Ads is a one-time purchase made through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or billing details. The app keeps Apple's receipt on your device to know the purchase is yours, and Restore Purchases in Settings reads it back from your Apple Account on a new device. Once purchased, the app requests no ads at all, so the advertising request and interaction data described in the Advertising section is no longer sent to Google.
Challenge links
When you share a daily challenge or puzzle, the link goes to quintra.app and opens the app if it is installed. Our site records that a challenge link was opened, keyed to the challenge, not to any person, and forwards you on. The page shows the challenge and a link to install Quintra; it sets no cookies and keeps no visitor logs of its own. quintra.app is served by Cloudflare, and its pages load fonts from Google Fonts; those providers see the ordinary connection details any web request carries, under their own policies.
TestFlight and crash reports
Quintra is available on the App Store, and beta builds are also distributed through Apple's TestFlight. If you send feedback or a crash report through TestFlight, Apple delivers it to us with the device model, iOS version, and any screenshot or note you chose to include, under Apple's TestFlight terms. We use it only to fix the problem you reported.
What we do not do
- No accounts, passwords, or email sign-up.
- No ads while it is your turn, no App Tracking Transparency requests, no advertising identifier, and no fingerprinting.
- No selling or sharing of data with data brokers.
- No collection of contacts, location, photos, or the microphone.
- No purchases other than the optional Remove Ads, handled by Apple. No subscriptions.
Children
Quintra is a card game for a general audience, not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Game Center's own age rules apply to online play. Ads are requested without personalization for anyone who has not consented to it, and never with the advertising identifier.
Your choices
- Turn off anonymous usage signals in Settings.
- Change your ad consent under Ad privacy choices in Settings, where your region's form applies.
- Buy Remove Ads to stop ad requests entirely, and Restore Purchases on a new device.
- Meta's install measurement has no separate switch in the app. You can review how Meta uses information it receives in your Meta account's ad settings, and deleting the app stops it.
- Manage or delete your Game Center data through your Apple Account.
- Delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone. iCloud progression records can be cleared from your iCloud storage settings.
Changes
If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and the effective date, and describe the change in the app's release notes.
